4.2 Logic behind the mathematical calculations of safety margins:

Necessity of mathematical calculations :
As explained in section 1. Ordering 3-Wheelers, 3-Wheelers may present a risk of rolling over in curves. At a minimum, they should thus be checked to make sure that they offer at least a positive margin of safety against rollover.

This section 4.2 presents the physical principles and the logic behind the mathematical calculations of safety margins against rollover, applicable to the two following sections 4.3 and 4.4.
Following section 4.3 presents the mathematical calculations of safety margins against rollover, in the case of 3-Wheelers with two front driving-steering wheels.
Following section 4.4 presents the mathematical calculations of safety margins against rollover, in the case of 3-Wheelers with two front wheels but with a rear engine driving the rear wheel.
Following section 4.5 analyses the results and summarizes the safety margin calculations.
